Aleutian Wold War II NHA
Park brochure not obtained yet Synopsis: Located on Amaknak Island in the Aleutian Island Chain of Alaska, the fort was one of four coastal defense posts built to protect Dutch Harbor (the back door to the United States) during World War II, the fort is also highest coastal battery ever constructed in the United States.
Stamp Location: Stamp is available in the Aerology building in Unalaska.

Aniakchak NM and Preserve

Synopsis: Ecological preserve of volcanic remains that went off as recently as 1931.
Stamp Location: There are no facilities in the remote wilderness park. Stamp is available at the visitor center in King Salmon. Contact them at 907.246.3305 for more information.

Synopsis: Park is one of the most remote national park areas, located on the Seward Peninsula in northwest Alaska. The Preserve is a remnant of the land bridge that connected Asia with North America more than 13,000 years ago.
Stamp Location: Park headquarters offers information and is located in Nome. Call 907.443.2522 for specific directions. Stamp is also available at the Northwest Alaska Areas Headquarters and Information Center in Kotzebue, accessible only by air and only open Monday - Friday. You may contact them at 907.442.3890 for more information.

Cape Krusenstern NM

Synopsis: Park is a treeless coastal plain dotted with sizable lagoons and backed by gently rolling limestone hills. Cape Krusenstern's bluffs and its series of 114 beach ridges record the changing shorelines of the Chukchi Sea over thousands of years.
Stamp Location: The stamp is available at the Northwest Alaska Areas Headquarters and Information Center in Kotzebue, accessible only by air and only open Monday - Friday. You may contact them at 907.442.3890 for more information.

Denali NP

Synopsis: Park preserves the highest peak in North America (Denali), as well as vast regions of artic tundra and tiaga.
Stamp Location: Visitor information centers include the main center at the entrance to the park off SR 3 just south of Healy, the Eielson VC inside the park (and only accessible by shuttle bus), and the visitor infomation center at Byers Lake on SR 3. about 70 miles south of Healy.

Synopsis: Alaska's ultimate wilderness. Park protects massive undeveloped wilderness region of superlative natural beauty and exceptional scientific value.
Stamp Location: Known locations: Coldfoot Interagency VC on the Dalton Hwy, 60 miles north of the Arctic Circle in Coldfoot and in Fairbanks at the park service office at 201 1st Ave. and the Public Lands Information Center at 250 Cushman Ave., the Anaktuvuk Pass Ranger Station (periodically unmanned) in Anaktuvuk Pass, accessible only by air and the Bettles Ranger Station/Visitor Center at the end of Ice Road off the Dalton 40 miles west of Prospect Creek. Glacier Bay NP & Pres

Synopsis: Majestic scenery of glaciers and their handiwork, snow capped mountains, deep fjords and freshwater lakes make up this ecological preserve.
Stamp Location: The only visitor and contact station is at Glacier Bay Lodge 9.3 miles from Gustavus. Also, I've been told that rangers board cruise ships to give talks and bring the stamp with them.

Inupiat Heritage Area
Park brochure not obtained yet Synopsis: Site commemorates the contributions of Alaska Natives to the history of whaling. An affiliated area of the New Bedford Whaling NHP.
Stamp Location: At the Inupiat Heritage Center located in Barrow. Call 907.852.5494 for more information.

Katmai NP

Synopsis: Katmai is famous for volcanoes, brown bears, fish, and rugged wilderness and is also the site of the Brooks River National Historic Landmark with North America's highest concentration of prehistoric human dwellings (about 900). There is plenty room for great diversity of wildlife in Katmai which encompasses millions of acres of pristine wilderness, with wild rivers and streams, rugged coastlines, broad green glacial hewn valleys, active glaciers and volcanoes, and Naknek Lake.
Stamp Location: The park has two visitor centers: the King Salmon VC (open year round) is located right next to the airport terminal in King Salmon and the Brooks Camp VC is located inside the park on Naknek Lake near the mouth of Brooks River, 30 air miles from King Salmon.
