Day Twenty Four
Phoenix, Fort Lauderdale
Returning home after a vacation is at once sad and a happy occaision. We have all our bags packed and we are up before dawn to catch breakfast. We drop our rental off and the representative could not believe that we put on more than 10,000 miles on that Montero. Our flight leaves early this morning, and our worries of having to pay a surcharge for overweight are quickly put aside. We have yet to pay one, and have frequently overloaded our massive 2'x4' duffle bags, and associated side bags filled with books. (I later found out that my bags weighed a little over 100lbs).
After a crowded flight, and a layover in Atlanta, we touched down in Fort Lauderdale, where my travel companion Steve was home, and I had one more day to go.
